Kinja'd!!!

I picked up the Boba Fett rat rod recently. I don’t usually go for Hot Wheels’ fantasy models, but you can see why I made an exception.

My first encounter with Star Wars was the special edition re-releases in the 90s. I didn’t care about all the crappy additions and edits at the time. All I knew was Boba Fett was the baddest mother fucker in the galaxy (I probably used different verbiage).

I had the usual collection of Star Wars toys growing up but I’m pretty sure they were all sold off in a garage sale. I picked up several of Hasbro figures, including a “vintage collection” Boba Fett about 3 years ago just to get a mail-in special Boba Fett (the more classic looking of the two above).

After 3 years of staying packaged, I finally decided to liberate them today. Now they stand watch over my office cubicle alongside their rat rod brethren (and a growing collection of Hot Wheels cars).

Anybody else nerd-out at work?

All Robot Chicken Star Wars content is worth sharing always.

The only thing I have as nerdout at work is the collection of Happy Meal Minions. Well, and the Klingon Dictionary and Monty Python King Arthur action figure, but those barely count.

Saw the Boba rat rod, had to get it. So I did.

I don’t know, man. Klingon Dictionary is pretty extreme.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Klingon verbs ending in Type 9 suffixes (other than -’a’ interrogative and wI’ one who does, one which does) always occur in sentences with another verb. Hence, they are verbs in subordinate clauses.
cha yIbaH qara’DI’
or qara’DI’ cha yIbaH Fire the torpedoes at my command!
The two parts of this sentence are cha yIbaH fire the torpedoes! and qara’DI’ when I command you or as soon as I command you.

Until you’re playing Decipher’s Star Wars CCG at work you’re still an amateur.

Pretty sure that’d get me fired.

Ive worked Saturdays a lot and it was pretty free wheeling with no supervisors. Different jobs can have hugely different rules. My current employer is super strict.

I got away with a lot at newspapers but when you spend half your work day in a vehicle and watching sporting events and another 2-3 hours writing, editing and putting together pages, the extra hour each day doesn’t really matter.

That’s what drives me nuts about what I do now. Urgency is not in the vocabulary. Six months in and I think they’re pretty strict but reality is I haven’t faced punishment for anything... yet.

It is what it is. I'm slightly paranoid that there will be a crackdown.

Gotta love a witch hunt for slackers. Usually productive and under employed people get caught in the crossfire.

Well like I said, I came from an industry that finishes projects daily to one that takes weeks if not months. It's still a difficult transition.
